Connection..
THIS is yoga. CONNECTION..
Connection. Both to yourself, and to others.
Even if our yoga or meditation are a solo self-practice, by the nature of what we discover about ourselves, we can immediately feel more connected. To our own feelings, emotions and reactions, as well as to our breath and physical body. And through the discovery of what truth lies below the surface of the busy mind, we are connected to every other human. There’s a realisation that we are all the same.
When we practise together with others, whether on screen or in-person, that connection is even more present. We can notice our feelings towards the others in the class at the beginning and at the end of the practice, transforming from slightly closed or hesitant, to openness and warmth. Yoga gives us the pause and presence to see what we all share, and encourages kindness and community.
To me, THIS is yoga.
