MEDITATION on MONDAYS

  • Less snapping at your partner, less irritation at colleagues and family members.

  • More rational reactions to situations that promote knee-jerk anger.

  • A greater patience and understanding for all those around you, and for yourself

  • Maybe a wider acceptance of ‘who you are’ and how to live more contentedly..

Sounds like something we all need!..

Join a small group of others, from the cosy comfort of your own space, in this weekly meditation class - to share the experience of mind observation, focus and relaxation.

What’s involved?

Each session starts with gentle, held postures to stretch out and release built-up tension in the physical body, to promote quiet and calm, and to prepare the body to be still for meditation. The remainder of the class is spent on the simple, yet not at all simple, practice of sitting, ‘doing’ nothing, and observing what the experience brings up, in mind, body and breath.

What IS meditation anyway?!

Meditation is NOT, as is commonly thought, the act of ‘switching off’ the mind. The mind is pretty useful and we don’t need, or want to turn it off! There is no click of the fingers and expectation of immediate peace.

What we do work towards though, is more awareness of who ‘we’ are, where our behaviours and beliefs maybe arise from, and how to gain greater control over our stress, our reactions and our thoughts.

Doing this together, in a supportive group, makes it a LOT easier to stick to the habit, and therefore begin to notice the benefits sooner.

Reviews..

“These meditation sessions honestly felt like a warm hug to myself. I find it SO hard to 'be' in the moment and yet Sue made it not seem like hard work at all. She was a joy and made me laugh a lot, but also gave me the confidence to keep on trying and just enjoying seeing where I end up in my relationship with being aware and present. I would highly recommend Sue's meditation classes and can't wait to go to more.”

“Really pleased to be part of the meditation class. It’s where - I think - nothing much happens but everything does - quite remarkable! It helps me unexpectedly get in touch with fundamental aspects of myself. Or at least it did for sure last session. Thanks Sue - think you are a very insightful teacher.”

“I’ve definitely noticed a difference since starting these sessions; I can catch myself now, during the day, when I’m overthinking, or about to start worrying about something, and I can feel the awareness that I have the control as to how to react or continue. Literally just in the last three weeks of doing this practice, I can feel a change; there’s a realisation that my mind isn’t ‘me’ and it doesn’t have to control me.”
